Grant is provided under the Innovative Scientific Research project to the University of California at Berkeley to test the resistance of bamboo-reinforced adobe buildings against earthquakes.

Abstract
The project will be implemented by the University"s Earthquake Engineering Research Center (EERC) in collaboration with the Civil Engineering Department of Cukurova University, Adana, Turkey. building will be constructed and tested to destruction on the "shaking table" of the University of California. Results will be compared with those for an unreinforced adobe building of the same design tested to destruction some months ago at the same facility.
