AID grant no. 497-0364-G-SS-2093-00 to Private Agencies Collaborating Together, Inc. for support of a program entitled `reaching street children in urban environments (RESCUE) in Indonesia"

(PACT) for a program -- called Reaching Street Children in Urban Environments or RESCUE -- to strengthen the capacity of 5-8 Jakarta-based NGOs to develop programs and conduct research to help meet the needs of street children. PACT, in collaboration with Yayasan Kesejahteraan Anak Indonesia (YKAI, the largest child welfare apex organization in Indonesia) will provide the NGOs with TA, seminars, and workshops in such areas as planning, management, social work, program development, research methodology, and needs assessment, as well as subgrants for actual projects; it is expected that at least one replicable model program that meets street children"s needs will be developed. PACT/YKAI will also support research resulting in a profile and at least two case studies of Jakarta street children. Findings will be disseminated to government policymakers, YKAI members, and to the "Street Children/Child Workers Network."
