Grant is provided under the PVO Co-Financing Project to Volunteers in Technical Assistance (VITA) to improve business training at the Christian Industrial Training Centers (CITC"s) in Kenya, a coalition of six vocational training centers serving underprivileged youth.
1990

Abstract
Four of the CITC"s will participate in the project. VITA will seek to establish: (1) a business management curriculum for use in training CITC students, graduates, and staff; (2) on- site technical and management assistance to CITC graduates who are beginning or expanding small businesses; (3) a business/industry internship program for second year students; and (4) information centers and upgraded small-scale production facilities at each of the CITC"s. Prior to initiation of the project, short baseline studies will be undertaken at participating CITC"s to determine previous employment patterns of graduates, identify possible management changes, and investigate credit needs and availability.
