Grant is provided under the Family Planning Services and Support Project to the Family Planning Association of Kenya (FPAK) to partially finance Phase III of its community-based distribution (CBD) of contraceptives program, which will operate in 39 divisions (35 rural and 4 urban) in 18 populous districts.

Abstract
Phase III will continue CBD currently being provided by 764 agents in over 500 sublocations, and will recruit and train 236 additional agents to improve the level of coverage in these locations. However, FPAK will begin to phase out its activities in high prevalence areas in order to concentrate on areas of lower prevalence. A new focus of the program will be on increasing the numbers of referrals for long-term and permanent methods. New training sessions will be designed for CBD agents to reinforce screening and counseling techniques for these methods. Overall targets include 25,000 new clients, 394,000 revisits, 119,000 referrals, and provision of 249,225 couple-years of protection.
