Abstract
The project will comprise five components. (1) A Program and Evaluation Officer will be hired to improve ACDI"s project design and evaluation system. (2) ACDI will design overseas projects to organize new agricultural cooperatives and upgrade existing ones. For the most part, these projects will assist small farmers, focus on food crops rather than export crops, and will include farmer training. (3) Studies will be conducted on farm credit in the Philippines, trade/barter between cooperatives in West Africa and the United States, and the viability of drawing formerly landless farmers into cooperatives. In addition, ACDI will (4) conduct seminars and workshops for high-level cooperative managers government officers and (5) organize a 10-member Technical Resources Group to provide volunteer consulting and advisory services.
