Grant is provided under the West Bank/Gaza Development project (3980159) to American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) to work with Palestinian groups to promote agricultural development, urban development, and strengthen non-profit institutions.

Abstract
Under the rural agricultural development component, ANERA will: (1) establish mechanized units within a number of rural village cooperatives; (2) assist in the creation and support of revolving loan funds to serve farmers; (3) help establish grading, packing, and boxing facilities; (4) help construct agricultural processing plants; and (5) provide training and TA to subproject personnel. To promote urban economic development, ANERA will: (1) create slaughterhouses within local municipalities; (2) help build wholesale and retail fruit and vegetable markets; (3) support the creation of sewage recycling units attached to new municipal sewer systems to provide irrigation waste for farmers; (4) assist in the construction of municipal light industrial complexes on the outskirts of West Bank townships; (5) provide training and TA to relevant institutions. ANERA will upgrade local non-profit institutions through training, TA, and improved equipment. Beneficiary institutions will include those providing health, vocational training, special education, and social services. Within the health sector, ANERA will help establish new clinics and improve existing ones.
