Abstract
The purpose of the mobile team is to maximize the number of people trained in PHC in a short period of time, since IRC could be forced to evacuate the area if the Government of Sudan attacks the Sudan People Liberation Army during the dry season. The mobile training team will teach intensive 2-3 week for three classes of PHC workers. Community health workers and traditional birth attendants will be trained for a home visiting program focusing on preventive measures and will be provided with large supplies of oral rehydration solution, while Expanded Program for Immunization (EPI) teams will be trained to administer a mass immunization campaign against the six basic EPI diseases in each camp and its adjacent villages. If security improves, IRC plans to expand its training curriculum, construct a training center in Aswa, and increase its monitoring of health workers in the camps and surrounding villages.
