Abstract
To this end, PADF will arrange short-term U.S. training for eight vocational/technical school instructors from Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, and Panama. PADF will collaborate with in-country vocational/technical schools to design MEM/R curricula and to select instructors to participate in a 6-month training program at the National Center for Research in Vocational Education (NCRVE) at Ohio State University. A total of 720 hours of course instruction will be provided, covering: technical principles, trouble-shooting, health care equipment, pedagogy, instructional material development, and multi-media teaching aids. After training, the instructors will establish a permanent MEM/R course at their schools, and will also train fellow vocational/technical instructors from other institutions. Each instructor will train an estimated 20 students per course by the end of the project. PADF will provide follow-up TA to the instructors.
