Grant to the Salvation Army World Services Organization (SAWSO) to help strengthen the organization"s human and institutional resources in 16 countries in which SAWSO already has an established field program - Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Swaziland, Pakistan, Burma, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Jamaica, Haiti, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Bolivia.

Abstract
SAWSO will train trainers, improve local management and administrative processes, and teach and apply practical technical skills in community development, primary health care, income generation, and agriculture. SAWSO will also provide TA for ongoing projects; conduct regional and in-country workshops, seminars, and courses; and provide in-service training for project technical staff and community members in the areas of needs assessment, planning, budgeting, and evaluation. Once these programs are well underway, similar programs are planned for 11 additional countries:
