Abstract
cities plan and implement TA programs with sister cities in the Third World. Town Affiliation Association (TAA)/Sister Cities International will implement the project. Over a 3-year period, TAA will assist U.S. cities in adapting and transferring U.S. "know-how" to private and public institutions in Third World sister cities. TAA will focus on: (1) mobilizing the human and financial resources of U.S. cities for project purposes; (2) helping U.S. cities identify needs in Third World sister cities that can be addressed by technical collaboration; (3) helping U.S. and Third World cities design projects suitable for short-term intervention by U.S. volunteer technicians; and (4) providing a mechanism for implementing such projects. The grant includes a list of possible project activities in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Peru, and Zambia.
