Grant to the International Development Law Institute (IDLI), located in Rome, Italy, to (1) partially finance IDLI"s general and administrative costs, and (2) provide fellowships for lawyers from developing countries to IDLI programs.
1990

Abstract
Specifically, the grant will fund fellowships for six participants per year in IDLI"s Development Lawyers Course (DLC) and for up to three participants in each of its International Business Transactions (IBT) Seminars. The DLC is a mid-career course designed to improve the ability of developing country lawyers to negotiate agreements and assist in the implementation of projects in the fields of development assistance, private sector development, foreign investment, and international trade. The IBT Seminars, aimed at senior lawyers, cover such topics as debt rescheduling and investment treaties, international contract resolution, and joint ventures; however, the seminars are increasingly being directed toward private sector development and legal reform as well as international business contracting. All fellowships are open to both public and private sector lawyers.
