Project to institutionalize within Africare the capacity to design and implement local-level integrated rural development projects so that it can then institutionalize these capabilities within local groups and governments in francophone countries of the Sahel.

Abstract
Africare will: (1) establish a rural development resource library and information center for the Sahel; (2) develop a series of Sahel-specific project and program models and rural development strategies, with emphasis on a general rural development model for the region, as well as on rural health models; (3) sponsor U.S.- and Sahelian-based training workshops; and (4) acquire 5 professional staff members.
