AID grant to Council of Voluntary Social Services for a program in guidance, counselling and placement service for employable Belizean youth

The objective of the Center, whose services will be available to educational institutions and to all individuals up to the age of 21, is to help young people plan their careers and make them aware of job opportunities and job requirements, and provide them with job referrals. Links will be forged with employers, who will inform the Center of possible jobs for young people. The Center will interview the young people, provide them with guidance and employment-related information, and test and evaluate them for suitable placement on the basis of their skills, aptitude, and interests. The Center will also encourage new and expanding enterprises to utilize the Center"s services and to help provide the young people with any needed vocational training. The Center will also call on CVSS member agencies and vocational training institutes to provide any special vocational training that may be called for.
