AID grant to Fundacion Economia y Desarrollo, Inc. to provide public awareness of basic economic principles

OPG to Fundacion Economia y Desarrollo (FED) to continue and expand its mass media program to increase public awareness of economic principles and issues in the Dominican Republic.

Abstract

The OPG will enable FED to continue to: (1) publish Sabado Economico, a weekly economic column/supplement in Listin Diario, the country"s most widely read newspaper; (2) produce Mercado y Libertad, a daily TV commentary on current economic issues, and publish a synopsis of the program in the afternoon paper Ultima Hora; (3) produce Trialogo, a weekly TV program on which a panel of experts analyze current events; (4) publish in Listin Diario both Economia para Todos, a weekly popular exposition of basic economic concepts, and La Grafica del Dia, a daily graph on macroeconomic and microeconomic variables; (5) publish a weekly column on economics in the newspaper El Siglo; and (6) publish its work in book form.
