Abstract
training opportunities to participants from the Eastern Caribbean in the areas of business, tourism, nontraditional agriculture, youth leadership (including drug abuse education), and, to a lesser extent, emergency preparedness. Approximately 80 participants will be selected per year from the following countries: Antigua and Barbuda, St. Christopher and Nevis, Montserrat, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Barbados. Training programs will range from 1-24 months and will include medium- and long-term programs for 24 persons and short-term programs for 216 persons. Project funds will also be used to support the establishment of a partnership between Grenada and a New York State county. (Partnerships are already established for the other participating countries.)
