Grant is provided under the Agricultural Sector Development Grant Project (6830246) to The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) to help increase the supply of agricultural credit in Niger by initiating a pilot credit union (CU) movement in one region.

Abstract
The movement will test the feasibility of establishing CU"s on a national scale. The grant funds five activities: (1) selecting and training a Nigerien team to organize the CU movement; (2) promoting and establishing 15 CU"s in the pilot zone; (3) training CU officials and conducting member education programs; (4) creating a promotion committee to speak for the emerging Nigerien CU movement; and (5) monitoring the effects of membership/participation in CU"s.
