Project to establish a management information system (MIS) for use in evaluating the impact of alternative development activities funded under A.I.D."s Andean Counterdrug Initiative.
1991

Abstract
A contractor will implement the project. The MIS will provide analytical and evaluative information for host governments, A.I.D., and other donors on the impact of economic assistance for alternative development, as well as on the reduction of coca growth and trafficking in each country, and on country compliance with conditionality. The MIS will be installed in counterpart agencies and Missions in Bolivia, Colombia, and Peru, as well as in A.I.D./W"s LAC Bureau. Specifically, the MIS will enable A.I.D. Missions and counterpart agencies to: (1) catalogue and assess available information, and develop project-specific and program-level data; (2) review socioeconomic and programmatic information that indicates a country"s progress in shifting from a coca-based to a post-coca economy; (3) share information among themselves and with the LAC Bureau; (4) prepare joint reports and assessments; and (5) facilitate A.I.D responses to information requests from the U.S. Congress, the press, etc.
