Abstract
PES covers the period 7/82-9/84 and consists of a facesheet attached to a Special Evaluation (XD-AAR-262-A) based on document review, site visits, and interviews. Action decisions concerning the project"s Caribbean Comunity Secretariat (CARICOM) component are to: provide a full time staff person trained in demography to monitor and expedite the work of participating counties" National Population Task Forces (NPTF"s); develop and finance a public education media campaign; redesign demographic training to ensure that appropriate training for local statistical units undertaking demographic studies in participating countries is provided; and extend the project completion date to match that of the activities implemented by International Planned Parenthood Federation/Western Hemisphere Region (IPPF/WHR). Action decisions addressing IPPF/WHR activities are to: hire additional technical and managerial project staff at IPPF/WHR"s regional office; review procedures for establishing and implementing subgrant agreements with national governments, and IPPF/WHR home office costs and reporting; conduct country by country reassessments of clinic renovation and equipment allocation and of training needs, and expedite disbursement of funds for those clinic renovations implemented; and, consider funding for activities in Grenada.
