Grant provided under Program Development and Support Project 5270000 to the Centro de Investigacion, Universidad del Pacifico (CIUP) in Peru to develop analytic and evaluative tools that quantitatively predict the economic impacts of alternative sector and macro policies on the agricultural sector and on individual farm firms.

Abstract
Specifically, this purpose, CIUP will: (1) analyze the impacts of selected policies in representative agricultural production and processing enterprises, and, based on that analysis, project income optimization and output growth strategies at the firm level; and (2) adapt and expand a macroeconomic model known as SIMUL to simulate selected economic impacts of policy alternatives on the agricultural sector.
