Abstract
The directory contains information about community development associations, unions, national councils, and funding entities in Minia, Assuit, and Sohag governorates in Egypt. Coptic Orphans, an international non-profit organization, established in 1988, and officially registered in 1992, seeks to achieve sustainable development for future generations by unleashing their potential and assisting them in overcoming poverty. The organization works in collaboration with local non-profit Egyptian organizations through three major programs: Not Alone, Valuable Girl, and Be'edaya. The TAMKEEN project aims to improve the institutional capabilities and organizational skills of community development associations in Minia, Assuit, and Sohag governorates to promote civic participation of girls in their community and expose participants to the value of volunteerism. To ensure better communication among project partners, Coptic Orphans is publishing this directory, which contains information about project partners and other local non-government organizations in the target governorates. The directory includes information about community development associations, unions, national councils, and funding entities in Minia, Assuit, and Sohag governorates. The associations work in diverse fields and are primarily concerned with local community development, especially for marginalized groups. The directory aims to boost networking and connectivity among associations, donors, and the media, and as a reference for civil society and its activities. The Evangelical Association for Sustainable Development is a community development association based in Minia Governorate. The association aims to develop the cultural, social, economic, and health conditions of the community by offering technical and financial support for local communities and linking them with NGOs working in common fields of interest. The association has implemented several projects, including the "Employment through Technology and Creativity" project, which provided training and job opportunities for young people. The Takwa and Eman Islamic Development Association is another community development association based in Minia Governorate. The association aims to develop the Minia Governorate community through carrying out economic, health, cultural, social, environmental, and educational developmental projects. The association has implemented several projects, including changing the outline of implementing small projects, establishing a family counseling center, and improving the educational achievement of kindergarten graduates. The Comprehensive Humanitarian Development Private Institute is a community development association based in Minia Governorate. The association appreciates humanitarian work and loves their homeland, and seeks to develop the local community, especially the needy, in order to bring about positive change in all aspects of life. The association has implemented several projects, including activating the role of the local community, encouraging decision-makers to help children and youth with disabilities, and establishing a nursery and conducting diagnosis for the early discovery of disabilities. The El Refaeiya Charitable Association for Community Development is a community development association based in Minia Governorate. The association aims to develop the community through various projects and activities, including humanitarian aid, health and nutrition, education and literacy programs, professional training, recruitment and employment, small projects, and environment protection. The association has implemented several projects, including establishing a family counseling center, improving the educational achievement of kindergarten graduates, and providing vocational rehabilitation for people with disabilities.
