USAID. BUR. FOR POPULATION AND HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE
Development Program Grant is provided to the Save the Children/Community Development Foundation (SCF/CDF) to improve its capability to carry out community-based integrated rural development projects in the LDC"s.
1975
Abstract
The SCF/CDF will undertake a comprehensive assessment and redesign of its program objectives, staffing patterns, planning and evaluation techniques, training methods, and technical assistance and financial procedures. SCF/CDF will also institute a community-based sponsorship funding mechanism and design new multi-year programming and budgeting processes. Field office guidelines will be developed to ensure the use of more systematic procedures in monitoring community activities and the technical support provided to them. In addition, training in fiscal management and coordination of funds will be given to individual SCF/CDF personnel as well as entire regional and field offices. Finally, these new implementation, evaluation, and training procedures will be put to work in community-based integrated rural development projects in a total of 15 countries in Asia (Bangladesh, Korea, Indonesia), Africa (Cameroon, Tunisia, Upper Volta), the Middle East (Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Yemen), and Latin America (Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico).
