Commodity import program (CIP) to provide balance of payments support and foreign exchange needed by the Government of Egypt to implement a restructuring of domestic economic policy.

Abstract

CIP monies will be used for the importation of equipment and raw materials to be used in industrial and agricultural production, two areas needed to supplement declining export earnings from petroleum, workers" remittances, the Suez Canal, and tourism.
