Abstract
An initial section presents an overview of the industries, including the role of public and private sector companies, the role of government and its key agencies, the public law affecting foreign investment, methods of distribution, and the labor picture. Subsequent sections deal with individual product lines, including: communication system equipment; electronic consumer products; computers, word processors, and accessories; electronic medical equipment; electrical transmission and distribution equipment; electrical appliances; lighting and wiring devices; and miscellaneous equipment. Each section includes a brief description of the product and its uses; the companies involved in its production; a brief discussion of present and projected market demand; and a review of potential investment opportunities. A final section profiles the 25 opportunities identified in the course of the survey. Thirteen tables are included in the text. A list of companies interviewed for the report is appended.
