Abstract
This inventory is attached as Annex I to a final contractor study in a project providing A.I.D. with baseline data on forestation activities and deforestation problems in selected developing nations (PD-AAK-003-A1). This inventory lists activities that were completed, ongoing, or proposed as of 1976. The activities are grouped by regional scope: (1) Worldwide; (2) Asia and the Pacific; (3) Latin America and the Caribbean; and (4) Africa and the Middle East -- subdivided into the Sahelian, Non-Sahelian West African, East African, and North African/Middle Eastern areas. The information provided includes the activities" specific national or regional location; current status; estimated total cost in U.S. dollars; donor(s), e.g., national governments and international organizations; and type and classification (e.g., education, afforestation, conservation, integrated development, research, industrial, and technical assistance). Also listed is a brief, general description of the individual activities. Activity listings are followed by a list of footnotes citing the sources of information, e.g., interviews with involved officials and publications.
