Abstract
The alliance's main working groups, Mobiles for Reading (mReading) and Mobiles for Youth Workforce Development (mYWD), remained a priority, with ongoing support for their respective projects and initiatives. Analytical research was a key area of focus, with the comprehensive Landscape Review of Mobiles for Reading (mReading) initiated in Q1. A rough draft of the review was submitted near the end of Q2, and JBS reviewed the draft, providing additional feedback and suggestions for further research and analysis. The consultant's contract was considered complete upon receipt of the latest draft, and a new consultant was brought on to conduct additional research and analysis for in-depth case studies. The mEducation Alliance website continued to be a key platform for knowledge exchange, with JBS updating materials and participating in events related to the Reading and Literacy Summit Roundtable. The website's content was managed and moderated by JBS, with new feature articles and projects added to the database. Twitter was also utilized to disseminate new content and monitor SC and mEducation Alliance members' activities. The Seminar Series, a key component of the mEducation Alliance's knowledge exchange efforts, continued to be implemented under a limited budget. JBS proposed that each SC organization be responsible for preparing one feature article and organizing and hosting one seminar series event per year. The series was attended by 64 viewers for OAS's webinar on OERs and 25 people for IAMLearn's webinar on evaluation. Planning for the 3rd annual mEducation Alliance International Symposium continued, with the event scheduled to take place in a new action-oriented Commit Fair format. OAS offered to host the Symposium and cover the cost of space and AV as an in-kind sponsor donation. JBS developed a draft Call for Proposals (CFP) and project proposal template, which were sent to SC members for feedback and approval. The revised CFP was distributed widely through listservs, the website, Twitter, and SC organization networks. Research Roundtables, a component of the mEducation Alliance's research and analysis efforts, were not scheduled during Q3 due to scheduling and human resources concerns. No requests were received under this activity.
