Abstract
To install PipeLine 4.0, follow the three instructions outlined below. First, remove all previous versions of PipeLine from the computer. This is necessary to prevent data conflicts and ensure a smooth installation process. To do this, navigate to the Control Panel and select Add or Remove Programs. Scroll through the list of installed programs and remove any previous versions of PipeLine. If data files are stored on the C drive in an older version of PipeLine, they can be manually relocated to the C:/Program Files/Pipeline/ directory. Next, install PipeLine 4.0 by inserting the CD into the CD drive or by double-clicking on the executable file in the downloaded Winzip folder from the USAID/DELIVER/PROJECT website. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process. PipeLine 4.0 is installed in the C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Pipeline directory, but the installation location can be changed during the first stage of the installation process. Previous versions of PipeLine are installed in the C:/Program Files/Pipeline directory. After installing PipeLine 4.0, it is necessary to install Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack to ensure proper functionality. This service pack is required even if Microsoft Office 2007 or a different version is being used. The installation of the service pack does not revert the version of Microsoft Office to 2003, as the Microsoft Access runtime module is responsible for sending required data to PipeLine and providing necessary details for its operation. The service pack is located on the CD in the "Updates Office" folder and is available in four languages: Arabic, English, French, and Spanish. The service pack should be installed in the language most suitable for the system's operating language. If the desired language is not available, a link to Microsoft's website is provided to locate the service pack in the desired language. The installation guide for PipeLine 4.0 is provided by USAID | PROJET DELIVER, a project of John Snow, Inc. The guide is available in English and can be accessed through the USAID | DELIVER website. The document does not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of the USAID or the United States Government.
