Grant provided under Program Development and Support Project 5270000 to support efforts of Habitat Peru Siglo XXI, in collaboration with other institutions such as Universidad del Pacifico, Camara Peruana de la Construccion, and Camara Peruana de Mutuales de Vivienda, to conduct an intensive analysis, evaluation, and forum on the topic, "The Private Sector and the Production of Social Interest Housing."

Abstract
The principal factors affecting private sector shelter initiatives, such as regulatory constraints, the availability of financial resources, real market demands, and appropriate technology and construction methods, will be analyzed and discussed and conclusions reached leading to a long-term plan to increase private sector construction and delivery of affordable shelter to lower and middle income families.
