Abstract
The initiative's geographic focus was on Eastern Province, with a specific emphasis on the districts of Kirehe and Nyagatare. The program's timeframes were divided into three phases, with the first phase focusing on project implementation and the second phase on midterm evaluation and program scaling up. The third phase involved program sustainability and replication in other districts. Recommendations for future agricultural development initiatives in Rwanda included the need for continued investment in farmer training and capacity building, as well as the importance of addressing the root causes of soil degradation and limited market access. Additionally, the program highlighted the need for more effective collaboration between local stakeholders, government agencies, and international partners to ensure the long-term sustainability of agricultural development initiatives.
