Abstract
HUMAN MOTIVATIONAL TRAINING HAS A POSITIVE EFFECT ON EX-TRAINEES BY INCREASING THEIR AWARENESS, MAKING THEM MORE OPEN, AND BY HELPING THEM TO THINK ABOUT DEMOCRATIC PRINCIPLES. IT IS EFFECTIVE IN GIVING INDIVIDUALS MORE SELF-CONFIDENCE AND IT IS BENEFICIAL FOR PERSONAL LIFE ENRICHMENT AND STRENGTHENING THE FAMILY. IT INCREASES THE INDIVIDUAL"S ATTITUDE FAVORABLY TOWARD WORKING IN GROUPS. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO HELP INDIVIDUALS BECOME MORE SUPPORTIVE OF OTHERS IN THE ORGANIZATION, NOR DOES IT HAVE APPARENT EFFECT ON EX-TRAINEES" BEING MORE SUPPORTIVE OF COUNTERPARTS AT DIFFERENT LEVELS. MOST SKILLS LEARNED ARE HUMAN RELATIONS, WORKING IN GROUPS, AND MOTIVATION. EX-TRAINEES PICK UP FEWER SKILLS IN ORGANIZATION AND PLANNING, AND OTHER SUCH SPECIFIC SKILLS THAT MIGHT BE DIRECTLY BENEFICIAL TO THEIR WORK. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT BASIC ATTITUDES AND VALUES SHIFT BASED ON A 3 TO 14 DAY TRAINING SESSION. THIS STUDY WAS UNABLE TO PINPOINT DEFINITE OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE THAT MOTIVATION TRAINING ALONE LEADS TO SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CHANGE. THE EVALUATORS MADE TEN RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT THE PROGRAM RELATING TO CONSIDERATIONS BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER TRAINING, THE TRAINERS, AND MATTERS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH.
