Inter-American household survey program

Subproject to support efforts of the Inter-American Statistical Institute (IASI) to implement the Inter-American Household Survey Program (PIDEH), a development planning-related data collection and analysis program in the Caribbean and in Central and South America.

Abstract

IASI efforts will focus on methodological development, training, and information exchange. IASI will prepare and publish a manual on designing master sampling frames from census-based information for use in multipurpose and special-purpose household surveys and also reproduce in English and Spanish a document of program-related research concepts and definitions. In addition, IASI will conduct a regional workshop on the former of these documents and three other training workshops, each in a different AID-assisted country, for producers and users of household survey data. Finally, IASI will establish a quarterly newsletter to disseminate information on household survey activities in the region.
