Cash transfer of $12.1 million to the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) to provide immediate balance of payments assistance to facilitate recovery from the damages inflicted by Hurricane Gilbert and to support the GOJ economic recovery program.

Abstract
The GOJ covenants to continue to maintain a stabilization and structural reform program. General objectives will be to privatize hotel assets, adopt a general consumption tax, reduce the tariff and stamp duty rates, reduce the monopoly importer status of the Jamaica Commodity Trading Corporation, initiate actions to broaden capital markets, and develop quarterly targets for control of the public sector deficit.
