In addition, the KTA attended a Port Meeting to Review KPA operations Targets on October 24th, 2012, where stakeholders reviewed KPA targets on vessel productivity, road deliveries, and rail deliveries. The KTA also participated in the KPA Safety Week, which was organized between October 22nd-26th, 2012. The event aimed to promote safety in the port, with activities including inspection of operational areas, safety exhibitions, and spot checks on transport vehicles. The KTA CEO addressed the participants on the role of KTA in enhancing safety in the port, outlining measures such as the establishment of the Heavy Commercial Vehicles drivers training institute, self-regulation, and defensive driving trainings. The CEO also presented awards to KTA members who had demonstrated commitment to safety. Institutional development and sustainability were also key areas of focus for the KTA in October 2012. The KTA Secretariat received 1800 copies of the 17th edition of The Transporter, which were subsequently distributed to members and stakeholders. The KTA also participated in a workshop on the Transport Observatory Project, which aimed to develop a work plan for the next steps before and after the official launch of the project on December 6th, 2012. Overall, the KTA's activities in October 2012 were focused on enhancing the capacity of transporters, promoting the interests of transporters, and improving the business environment.
