Economic Support Fund grant to the Government of Liberia to procure medical supplies and equipment for the country"s 13 county hospitals, which provide relatively sophisticated modern health care as the third tier in the country"s primary health care referral system.

Abstract

Specifically, grant funds will be used to procure: (1) 14 microscopes for use in patient diagnosis, including one microscope for the Public Health Laboratory in Monrovia; (2) 22 major surgical equipment sets, along with 48 suture and laceration sets for 11 of the hospitals; and (3) basic radiographic X-ray machines and necessary support items for the Grand Cape Mount and Grand Gedeh county hospitals in Robertsport and Zwedru, respectively.
