Abstract
An agricultural survey was made of 383 farms in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1970, in order to obtain the necessary farm level data. Several homogenous groups were identified which reflected farm characteristics of size, type, technology, tenure, market orientation, management level and mechanization. Analyses were made of farm organization, income, consumption, savings, investment and other distinguishing characteristics to show the production-income-growth process for each group.
