Abstract
The program is being implemented under USAID Contract No. AID-523-TO-12-00001 and is being carried out by Tetra Tech. The CVPP is focused on strengthening the capacity of federal, state, and local governments to prevent and reduce crime, as well as promoting community-based initiatives to address the root causes of violence. The program is being implemented in nine target areas, located in Ciudad Juárez, Monterrey, and Tijuana, and is working to strengthen community resilience in the face of violence and crime. The CVPP is also working to develop and implement effective policies and programs to prevent crime and violence, and to promote social cohesion and community engagement. One of the key activities of the CVPP is the development of the Citizen Security Platform, a comprehensive framework for addressing crime and violence in Mexico. The platform is being developed in collaboration with the Centro Nacional de Prevención del Delito y la Participación Ciudadana (CNPDPC) and will provide a framework for designing and implementing effective policies and programs to prevent crime and violence. The CVPP has also been working to develop and disseminate good practices in crime and violence prevention, including the development of a guide for documenting best practices in prevention. The program has also been working to promote the use of evidence-based approaches to crime and violence prevention, and to support the development of effective policies and programs to address the root causes of violence. In addition to its work on the Citizen Security Platform and good practices in prevention, the CVPP has also been working to support the development of community-based initiatives to address crime and violence. This includes the development of community policing strategies, the promotion of community engagement and social cohesion, and the support of local organizations working to prevent crime and violence. The CVPP has also been working to support the development of effective policies and programs to address the root causes of violence, including poverty, inequality, and social exclusion. This includes the development of policies and programs to promote economic development, social inclusion, and community engagement, as well as the support of local organizations working to address these issues. Overall, the CVPP is a comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing crime and violence in Mexico through a combination of community-based initiatives, policy development, and program implementation. The program is being implemented in partnership with the Government of Mexico, USAID, and local organizations, and is working to promote social cohesion, community engagement, and effective policies and programs to address the root causes of violence.
