Project to assist selected Philippine Government agencies and private organizations in action programs to curtail the production and use of narcotics and dangerous drugs and to control the processing and trafficking of such drugs within and from the Philippines.

Abstract
Major activities of the project, which will be administered by the Philippine Inter-Organizational Council on Drug Addiction, will include training of police and other personnel, enactment of legislation to deter drug abuse, inclusion of drug education in the public school curriculum, operation of at least one treatment and rehabilitation center, and supporting research. A key objective of this project is to reduce the availability and use of dangerous drugs in areas contiguous to U.S. military bases.
