Abstract
The program focuses on providing training and resources to entrepreneurs and community leaders, with the goal of promoting economic stability and social cohesion. In June 2020, the program reported significant progress in various regions of Colombia. In Arauca, the program adapted its implementation to comply with COVID-19 prevention protocols, allowing beneficiaries to continue participating in training sessions through virtual tools and personalized visits. As a result, 197 beneficiaries were preselected, 172 were in the process of formation, and 41 plans of business were in formulation. In La Guajira, the program launched a campaign to promote self-care and prevention measures among the Wayuú indigenous community and migrant populations. The campaign, which included over 30 videos and audiovisual pieces in the Wayuunaiki language, was disseminated through community health networks on Facebook and WhatsApp, reaching over 1,000 people in the municipalities of Riohacha, Maicao, Uribia, and San Juan del Cesar. In Cúcuta, the program supported the development of community-based initiatives, including the establishment of a community center and the promotion of entrepreneurship among local residents. Vivian Velazco, a community leader, was recognized for her efforts in promoting education and economic development in the La Fortaleza neighborhood. The program also reported progress in other regions, including Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca, Antioquia, and Norte de Santander. In total, 1,099 beneficiaries were preselected, 904 were in the process of formation, and 107 plans of business were in formulation. The program's efforts are focused on promoting economic stability and social cohesion in Colombia, particularly in areas affected by migration and conflict. By providing training and resources to entrepreneurs and community leaders, the program aims to support the development of community-based initiatives and promote economic growth and social inclusion.
