Abstract
The report is divided into two parts. The first focuses on improvement of nutrition within the United States. It describes the current situation in the United States, how nutrition action is achieved, and the country"s overall goals for nutrition action. The report describes seven broad strategies that are means to achieve a healthier and more productive society. The second part focuses on international issues and reflects the leadership role of the United States in supporting nutrition programs worldwide. (Author abstract)
