Participating agency service agreement between the Agency for International Development and Department of Health and Human Services, Office of International Health

The project will be implemented through a PASA with the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS). USPHS will develop a program to supplement existing vaccine research and development activities which show promise for application in PHC programs. This program will include field trials of: (1) a rhesus monkey rotavirus vaccine developed at U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; (2) a human diploid-grown attenuated measles virus vaccine to be administered by both subcutaneous and aerosolized routes; and (3) other vaccines, to be identified. In addition, USPHS (or its subcontractors) will help developing country officials apply new vaccines in PHC programs, and train developing country scientists in the techniques needed for field testing of the vaccines.
