Plan de Fortalecimiento a Instancias de Participación CMDR – La Montañita

This initiative is part of the Desarrollo de capacidades para la Gobernanza y la Gobernabilidad en Caquetá project, which seeks to promote sustainable development and peace in the Caquetá region. The project involves a six-step process, starting with encounters with local communities and leaders to socialize the results of the Gobernanza y Visión Prospectiva diploma and the initiative of fortalecimiento a 19 instancias de participación. These encounters aimed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of existing participation institutions and to define which ones to strengthen. The second step involved an approach with the local institutional authorities to commit them to the accompaniment and participation in the process of fortalecimiento a instancias. This included generating agreements with the local government to appropriate the products developed as tools for strengthening citizen participation in the municipality. The CMDR – La Montañita, as the instance of participation to be worked on in the municipality, was identified as a key institution for the development of the municipality. The Coordinador de la Unidad Municipal de Asistencia Técnica Agropecuaria (UMATA) and the Profesional universitario Agropecuario were involved in the process, showing their willingness to work with the initiative. The initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of the CMDR and other participation institutions in the municipality, enabling them to play a more active role in the development of the municipality. This includes providing them with the necessary tools and resources to participate effectively in the decision-making process. The project also aims to promote a culture of participation and transparency in the municipality, ensuring that the different levels of government and civil society organizations work together to achieve common goals. This includes promoting the use of participatory budgeting and other mechanisms to ensure that the needs and priorities of the community are taken into account in the decision-making process. The initiative is being implemented in the context of the post-conflict strategy in the Caquetá region, which aims to promote peace, security, and development in the area. The municipality of La Montañita has been identified as a key area for intervention, and the initiative aims to contribute to the development of the municipality and the region as a whole.
