USAID. MISSION TO PARAGUAY
Project to support efforts of the Paraguayan Ministry of Health"s (MOH) Department of Family Protection (DEPROFA) to expand the provision of low-cost family planning (FP) services.
1976

Abstract
The project will help DEPROFA to continue operating its 30 existing FP centers, and will expand FP coverage in rural areas by developing a community-based contraceptive distribution system utilizing personnel from other health facilities, the National Malaria Eradication Service staff, extension agents, 4-H clubs, and community groups. In addition, DEPROFA will develop a comprehensive four-year plan for continuation after CY 1978 with or without A.I.D. support. Specifically, the project will finance the activities of the DEPROFA central staff, a cytology laboratory, and the 30 ongoing FP clinics; the MOH will assume financial responsibility for all outreach activities.
