Cash grant to provide balance of payments support to the Government of Portugal (GOP).

Abstract

Use of the funds by the GOP for repayment of debt to multilateral banks and the IMF is approved. Also, as the GOP has already transferred a sum of local currency greater than this grant to the Regional Government of the Azores, site of the NATO bases, there is no stipulation as to local currency programming for development purposes.
