Productivity and return to inputs on beef cattle farms, Sao Paulo, 1970
The main objective of this study was to investigate the productivity of beef cattle farms in the region of Ribeirao Preto in the state of Sao Paulo, in order to examine the possibility of increasing livestock production under the present policy situation and to acquire information for future policies.

Abstract
The specific objectives were: (1) To identify and compare the characteristics of livestock production according to level of mechanical technology and size of farm; (2) To analyze the returns to scale of livestock farming; (3) To determine the productivity of inputs used in beef cattle production; (4) To determine whether different production technologies exist between farms according to mechanical technology and size of farm; (5) to investigate the possibility of increasing livestock production under the present level of technology: A tabular presentation was utilized to show the magnitude of the differences of average resources use and farm characteristics for groups of farms according to level of mechanical technology and size of farm.
