Abstract
These are the first in a series of case studies intended to supplement and to complement the macro-oriented, primarily quantitative data already available. The informants are from families which own two acres of farm land or less and which derive some income from agriculture. Topics covered in the interviews are: land/landlessness, agricultural production and employment, marriage and reproduction, health and education, formal and informal economics, and orientation and world view.
