Abstract
480 Title II local currency generations, to develop the ability of the cooperative agribusiness system in upland areas of Indonesia to provide comprehensive production and marketing services to its small farmer members. The Cooperative League of the U.S.A. (CLUSA) will implement the project, which is based on the success of their current "PUSPETA" project (funded under 4980251). The project will transform district level co-op service centers into member service organizations which provide smallholders with input supply, credit, processing, and marketing services as well as training in the use and management of inputs and credit. Local co-op staff will also be trained. Project actitivies will be focused on two agricultural subsectors: (1) secondary crops and livestock production and marketing (to be implemented in 3 districts of Java); and (2) tiger prawn fry production (to be implemented in one district of Luwu). The project will enhance implementation of the joint Government of Indonesia/World Bank/A.I.D. Uplands Agricultural Conservation Project (4970311).
