Abstract
The project focuses on three operational areas: Education, Social Cohesion, and Alliances. In the Education area, FEPADE works directly with public schools to provide them with the tools, methodologies, and infrastructure necessary to strengthen their capacity to become Comprehensive Centers for Peaceful Coexistence. This includes creating a safe and fun environment where students can learn, play, practice sports, work on their soft and hard skills, and spend their time in positive activities within an established framework of rules and values necessary for peaceful coexistence. In the Social Cohesion area, FEPADE develops and implements strategies to strengthen the social fabric of the communities surrounding the schools. This is achieved by empowering community members and providing them with the skills and knowledge to manage their own community projects successfully, reconstructing their sense of belonging to the community, and drawing them closer to the schools to become active players within the education community. The Alliances area encompasses the project's efforts to establish public-private partnerships that promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence. This includes collaborating with private sector companies to leverage resources, expertise, and networks to support the project's objectives. During the period from April to June 2019, the Education and Coexistence Project achieved several key milestones. In the Education area, FEPADE implemented workshops in public schools, which resulted in improved student outcomes and increased community engagement. The project also established partnerships with local organizations to provide training and resources to teachers and school administrators. In the Social Cohesion area, FEPADE coordinated with FUNPRES, a local organization, to develop and implement community-based projects that promoted social cohesion and peaceful coexistence. The project also established a network of community leaders who worked together to address social issues and promote community development. In the Alliances area, FEPADE established partnerships with private sector companies to promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence. The project also participated in events and activities that promoted social cohesion and peaceful coexistence, and leveraged resources and expertise from private sector partners to support the project's objectives. The project's Indicator Matrix, Financial and Leverage Reports for the reported period, provide additional information on the project's achievements, implementation problems, and lessons learned. The reports also outline the project's plans for the next quarter, including the implementation of new activities and the continuation of existing ones. Overall, the Education and Coexistence Project has made significant progress in promoting social cohesion and peaceful coexistence in the communities surrounding the schools. The project's achievements demonstrate the importance of collaboration between government, private sector, and civil society organizations in promoting social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
