Abstract
The evaluation was made possible with the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The content of this report is the sole responsibility of the Tubiteho project and does not necessarily reflect the views of USAID or the United States government. The evaluation aimed to assess the availability and quality of health services in the health facilities of the Tubiteho project zone. The evaluation was conducted in 93 health facilities, including 6 health centers and 87 health posts. The evaluation collected data on the availability and quality of health services, including maternal and child health, family planning, and HIV/AIDS services. The evaluation found that the availability and quality of health services varied across the health facilities. The evaluation found that 60% of the health facilities had adequate infrastructure, including electricity, water, and sanitation facilities. However, 40% of the health facilities lacked essential equipment, including beds, mattresses, and medical supplies. The evaluation also found that the health facilities had varying levels of staff capacity and training. The evaluation found that 70% of the health facilities had staff with basic training in maternal and child health, while 30% of the health facilities had staff with advanced training in maternal and child health. The evaluation found that the health facilities had varying levels of availability of essential medicines and supplies. The evaluation found that 50% of the health facilities had a stockout of essential medicines and supplies, including antiretroviral therapy and family planning commodities. The evaluation also found that the health facilities had varying levels of availability of diagnostic equipment and supplies. The evaluation found that 60% of the health facilities had a stockout of diagnostic equipment and supplies, including blood pressure monitors and stethoscopes. The evaluation found that the health facilities had varying levels of availability of family planning services. The evaluation found that 70% of the health facilities offered family planning services, including contraceptive counseling and provision of family planning commodities. The evaluation also found that the health facilities had varying levels of availability of maternal and child health services. The evaluation found that 80% of the health facilities offered maternal and child health services, including prenatal care and delivery services. The evaluation found that the health facilities had varying levels of availability of HIV/AIDS services.
