Abstract
The project is located in the provinces of San Martín and Lamas, in the San Martín Region of Peru. The project's objective is to ensure that the population has access to adequate ecosystem services for water regulation and erosion control, as well as soil fertility in the sub-basin of the Cumbaza River. To achieve this objective, the project will implement a public investment program (PIP) to address the imbalance between the demand and supply of water services in the area. The current balance of water supply and demand in the sub-basin of the Cumbaza River is unfavorable, with a deficit of 1595.00 m3 of water per year. The table presented in the report shows that the precipitation and infiltration rates in the area are not sufficient to meet the demand for water, resulting in a loss of the water resource. The project will focus on addressing the imbalance between the demand and supply of water services in the area by implementing a PIP that includes the following components: (1) water harvesting and storage, (2) water distribution and management, and (3) ecosystem restoration and conservation. The project will also involve the participation of local communities and stakeholders in the decision-making process and will ensure that the project is socially and environmentally sustainable. The project's implementation will be carried out in two phases: the first phase will focus on the design and planning of the project, while the second phase will focus on the implementation and execution of the project. The project's timeline is expected to be approximately 24 months, with a budget of $1,000,000. The project's evaluation will be carried out in two stages: the first stage will focus on the project's social and environmental impact, while the second stage will focus on the project's economic and financial sustainability. The project's evaluation will be carried out by a team of experts who will assess the project's progress and outcomes against the project's objectives and indicators. The project's conclusions and recommendations will be presented in the final report, which will provide an overview of the project's outcomes and lessons learned. The report will also provide recommendations for future projects and initiatives that aim to address the imbalance between the demand and supply of water services in the sub-basin of the Cumbaza River. The project's implementation will be carried out by a team of experts who will work closely with local communities and stakeholders to ensure that the project is socially and environmentally sustainable. The project's success will depend on the effective management of the project's resources and the participation of local communities and stakeholders in the decision-making process. The project's geographic focus is the sub-basin of the Cumbaza River, which is located in the provinces of San Martín and Lamas, in the San Martín Region of Peru. The project's context is the need to address the imbalance between the demand and supply of water services in the area, which is resulting in a loss of the water resource. The project's timeframes are expected to be approximately 24 months, with a budget of $1,000,000. The project's recommendations will be presented in the final report, which will provide an overview of the project's outcomes and lessons learned.
