REDSO/WCA project assistance completion report for Mauritania small project assistance project (682-0232)

The development and management of 79 projects in the areas of food production, energy, competitive enterprise development, income generation, and health have encouraged and supported the self-help efforts of local communities. The vast majority of the projects were agricultural. Titles and brief descriptions of these projects, by year, are provided in the report. According to the few Activity Completion Notifications on record, some Peace Corps volunteers have had difficulty implementing projects because of villagers' inexperience and disorganization. There were also problems with procuring supplies, customs regulations, and adjusting projects to accommodate unexpected delays. (Author abstract, modified)
