REDSO/WCA project assistance completion report for planning, management and research project (625-0929.82)

The project provided approximately $1.2 million to finance the following: (1) feasibility studies for the Human Resources Development project (6820233); (2) studies and subsequent project paper development for the Mauritania River Valley Development project (6820237); (3) a pre-feasibility study of irrigation development in the Dirol Plain area leading the development of a project strategy and grant proposal for the Dirol Plain Improvement project (6820934); (4) studies and evaluations related the P.L. 480 Title II program support project (6820231); and, (5) design of a component of the Rural Health Services Project (6820230) to monitor the health impacts of irrigated agriculture and dam construction in the Senegal River Valley. The project also funded demographic and economic studies, development of OAR/Nouakchott's Country Development Strategy Statement, a facilitator for a Food for Work seminar, a Deputy Food for Peace Officer position, and monitoring services for commodity deliveries.
